Gary and Jim Hess, grandsons of Frank J. Hess will present
an interesting program about their grandfather, Frank J. Hess.
Frank started an independent cooperage in Wisconsin in 1904 at           the request of Henry Fauerbach of the Fauerbach Brewery in  Madison WI.  Frank made white oak barrels for beer, wine, and whiskey until
1966.  When the Frank J. Hess & Sons Cooperage closed it was
America's last factory making white oak kegs for the country's
breweries.  The program includes a power point presentation and a
display of barrels, the oak staves, and cooper tools.
